Ahmadinejad bleibt zu Hause
Der iranische Präsident Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hat seine Teilnahme an der Weltsicherheitsratssitzung, auf der heute die zweite Sanktionsresolution verabschiedet werden soll, abgesagt. Begründung:
‘’Due to the evident and deliberate failure of the American officials in issuing visa to Dr. Ahmadinejad’s entourage and flight crew, the president could not attend the UN Security Council session,'’ said Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini Friday. (IRNA)
Das US Außenministerium bestreitet, es habe das Visum zu spät für eine Reise Ahmadinejads nach NY erteilt.
Für den iranischen Außenminister Manouchehr Mottaki scheint das Visum aber rechtzeitig eingetroffen zu sein. Er wird an der Sitzung des Sicherheitsrates teilnehmen.
Sieht sehr danach aus, als ob einigen in Teheran doch noch Bedenken gekommen sind, ob Ahmadinejad wirklich der richtige Mann ist, um Irans Interessen vor dem Sicherheitsrat zu vertreten.

denial of visa means that the usa is afraid of the truth. america must prevent such errors in their fight against terror. one can not help but think twice on these issues. the more america reacts this way, the more sympathy they gain for countries like iran and syria.
as a diplomat, he does not really need a visa but by fruastrating his efforts, you make him a holy man for the muslims.
it is his right to go to the un with whomever he wants in his team. do not try to dictate to him like you’ve done with others.
