Zum Anlass des anstehenden Jahrestages der Anschläge am 11. September veröffentlichte AlQaida ein neues, anderthalbstündiges Video, aus dem Al-Jazeera einige Auszüge veröffentlichte.

Zum Iran hatte Ayman al-Zawahiri, die Nummer 2 des Netzwerkes und anchor men der makabren Show, wenig Freundliches zu sagen.

“The leadership in Tehran is collaborating with the Americans in their occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan,” Zawahiri said in the extract broadcast by the channel.

“It recognises the subservient (to Washington) governments of these two countries, while at the same time pledging death and destruction to any state which dares touch Iranian soil,” added the Egyptian deputy to Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. (AFP)

Al-Zawahiri warf Teheran nicht nur die Anerkennung amerikanischer Besatzung, sondern gleich auch noch die Zusammenarbeit mit den USA vor.

Schon im April dieses Jahres hatte AlQaida in einem Video dem Iran vorgeworfen, das Terrornetzwerk zu „diskreditieren“.
